You are cordially invited to the DHSS Hub Seminar, Wednesday, January 7, at 13:30, for a lecture by Dr. Inon Raz, who will present his research on methods for the reduction of affective polarization between political groups in Israel. Dr. Raz will discuss two experiments, in which an AI model was instructed to take one of two actions: 1) generate moral conflict, using moral values important to the participant to argue opposing positions; or 2) echo participants' views. In this way, Dr. Raz examines the interactions between participants and an AI model discussing the controversial issue of abortion, investigating processes for reduction of affective polarization.

Workshop

Creating AI Assistant for Research
with OpenAI Playground

Gilad Gutman
In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to build a dedicated AI assistant for research using the OpenAI Playground platform. The workshop will cover principles for developing an AI assistant that supports in-depth research processes, rather than serving only for text summarization or editing. We will explore key features of the platform that allow for flexibility and customization, and apply them to designing an AI assistant that produces consistent and transparent research results. The workshop is intended for researchers at the Open University who have prior experience with generative AI tools.
