DHSS Hub Seminar Broadsides in Jewish Culture as a Computational Challenge Prof. Avriel Bar-Levav You are cordially invited to the DHSS Hub Seminar, Wednesday, November 5, at 13:30, for a lecture by Prof. Avriel Bar-Levav. In his research, Prof. Bar-Levav curates the broadsides of Jewish culture from the beginning of print onwards. These single sheet prints and manuscripts were originally printed as stand-alones and many have been lost over time, while other remain hidden in libraries, archives, and collections, frequently without any distinguishing marks. This makes it extremely difficult to locate them. Prof. Bar-Levav will discuss the challenges of using computational tools to organize and tag the broadsides. AI-Based Tools for Research Workshop for Academic Staff Dr. Yachin Epstein In this workshop, Dr. Epstein will tackle the challenge of dealing with the flood of information in the academic world with the use of AI. This hands-on workshop will explore innovative AI tools – such as NotebookLM, Elicit, and Undermined – that enable precise searches, uncover connections between articles, and assist in formulating research questions. The workshop is currently for the Open University academic staff.
